My goodness, has it really been 6 months since my last post? Wow, time has gotten away from me and my schedule has been crazy. But as they say, absence makes the heart grow founder, or some other manner of non-sense! Well, I am finally back with an update. This time around, I have a new animation project for you guys.

The animation was done by a very talented animator named David Rodrigez who is a recent graduate from the animation power house, Animation Mentor. He came to me with this chilling animation that, even to this day, still makes me shiver. There aren’t a lot of people out there who strive to make a very serious animated short, and those who do usually fall flat. However, David did it with flying colors.

The soundscape was simple in theory, but was difficult to find. I wanted the audience to feel two waring emotions: sympathy and disgust. I want the viewers to be absolutely appalled by the actions of the main character, but by the end, they feel a great sadness for him. I can say with the utmost confidence that the music in this animated piece is the most gripping I’ve done and I am beyond pleased with how it turned out! Don’t take my word for it, though:

As always, you can also see it over on the VIDEO page. Be sure to check out David over at his website as he will be updating with new projects as he finishes them!

My goodness, has it really been two months since my last post?!? My sincerest appologies for the lack of activity here; life has been super duper busy! Well, the hiatus is over and I’m back in the saddle. Take heart: just because there haven’t been posts doesn’t mean that I haven’t been developing more content. In fact, just the oposite is true. I have a boatload of material to release for you all over the next few weeks! That being said, let’s get down to it!

Over the last few months, T|M and Gaming Union have been producing commercials for a game development company called Zallag. Last month, we ran our third and final round of commercials for them in our podcast episodes, and they were our best ones yet. The campaign ended officially today and have been removed from our shows, but never fear, you can check them out here!

Crazy Arenas

The Gods vs Humans spot was definitely a fun commercial to have written and produced. Both voices were actually done by Darryl, the President of Gaming Union! I manipulated his voice to make it sound different. It worked better than we though as it fooled his own mother. Special thanks to Fozzie, who was the voice actress for the Racers Islands spots!

We have more podcast commercials coming out in the very near future. I also have a crap-ton of new projects to show you guys so don’t stray too far!

Hello my friends! Welcome back for another week of Tweex Music updates. This time around I have a VERY exciting announcement. I was given the privilege to work on an awesome animation short film where I did sound design and composed original music!

This film comes from another one of the extremely talented animators from Animation Mentor. For those of you who have followed my updates for any length of time, you’ve seen that I’ve done work for quite a few AM students (Spotlight and Marcel et Marceau just to name two). I am pleased to add this short to my library of work! The film was created, directed, and animated by a man named Daniel Vasconcellos, a great animator based out of Sydney, Australia! Daniel had the idea to create a film based around a server in a restaurant and the unexpected hardships that he might face. To say the very least, hilarity ensues!

When Dan and I started talking details, he said that he was very open to the sound and style of the music. For me, that was music to my ears (horrible pun). I love hearing and composing music that has an orchestral influence fused with another genre. Jazz/lounge music felt it would be the best fit for the piece, but I really wanted to try incorporating more orchestral elements as you really don’t hear that a lot with this style of music. I’m quite pleased with how it all turned out! But don’t take my work for it, check it out:

As always, you can also see it over on the VIDEO page. For those of you who would like to hear the main musical themes by themselves, go no further! I have that for you:

You’ll also find the music over on the MUSIC page. Be sure to check out Daniel over at his website as he will be updating with new projects as he finishes them! This update is just the beginning of some awesome new projects that will be released VERY soon. Don’t stray too far; you don’t want to miss this!

Happy Tuesday everyone! Once again, I want to throw out another special thanks to everyone who entered the anniversary contest. Emails went out last week, so if anyone who entered didn’t receive one, let me know! Project: Binary is rocking along really well, so stay tuned for new updates.

This week, we have two new commercials for you to hear! We released two new advertisements for two games that have been produced by our friends over at Zallag. This time around, we have an ad for Crazy Racers and Gods vs. Humans. The GvH add used the voice of Fozzie, one of the popular hosts from the many GU podcasts. Fozzie is extremely talented and did a wonderful job with the goddess voice!

The CR commercial was also a ton of fun as I was one of the voices. A very good friend of mine (one of the best men in my wedding) acted as the other announcer. I really enjoyed using some music from the T|M library on this one. The first track you hear (during the “hello kid” section) comes from the library. Instead of me talking about it, how about I let you hear it :

Gods vs. Humans

And there we have it! We still have a couple more commercials to be released in the near future, so check back soon for new adverts. More updates on new projects, productions, Project: Binary, and more coming very soon! Don’t stray too far!

On to the news! This week brings an exciting addition to the list of advertisements that T|M has worked on. Gaming Union signed an advertising deal with Zallag, a video game publisher based out of France. They have several games coming out, but for the month of July, they are advertising one game called Racers’ Island – Crazy Racers. GU and I sat down and discussed how we might best do this, and we came up with two commercials: a 15 second and a 30 second. We had a load of fun making these and it was a lot of fun to act as the producer. Each spot features new and original sound design. It was a great eye opening experience for the GU staff to learn just how difficult it can be to fit in a lot of information into a tiny amount of time. However, the results were really fantastic! Check them out here:

15 Second Spot:

30 Second Spot:

The spots are being aired in all of the GU podcasts for the month of July, so be sure to check them out! We also have more commercials coming, so don’t go far. I’ve also been working on 2 new animation films, a flippin’ cool DeFranco remix, as well as a new/original track. We’ve got LOTS of stuff coming up, so check back soon!

Tweex Music Website Gets New Design!

T|M is back this week with some exciting additions! Website redesign, new music, new videos, and a new sleek look is what has been brought to the table! After spending some time looking over the site, there have been some changes that have been screaming at me, so I decided to go ahead and work on redesigning a few of the pages.

First challenge was the MUSIC Page. The old version was stale and contained a lot of text. Most importantly, it didn’t showcase the music that T|M has done over the past few years at all, really. So, after some thought and hard work, the page has been completely over hauled to allow listeners to hear a LOT of the work that Tweex Music has produced most recently. You can check out the “Commercial Music” section that features music from advertisements, film, TV, theatre, podcasts, and much more. If that doesn’t tickle your fancy, “Personal Projects” will allow you to listen to pieces that I’ve done for fun here and there! And if all else fails, “Video Game Remixes” will let you escape in nostalgia to a time you may have spent as a kid!

Some of you may have already noticed that the old SFX Page has suddenly disappeared. Fear not! This was by design…or re-design rather. What has replaced it is the new and sleek VIDEO Page. All the audio work that T|M has done for a video can be found here! Thumbnails for all the different productions has been made to help get rid of the wall of text that plagued the old SFX page. The new layout really helps show the diversity of the productions that T|M has worked on!

Finally, the CONTACT Page was tackled! A brand new layout very similar to the new VIDEO Page helps show everyone the MANY ways that you all can contact me to talk about productions you may be working on, projects that may need audio, or just to chew the fat about the latest episode of Grey’s Anatomy…uh, I mean the Speed channel.

All the pages have never before seen/heard content on them. Check out the new music and videos and enjoy the brand new layout!

The film follows the story of two mimes: Marcel and Marceau. They find themselves competing with each other on the same river walk area in Paris. What starts out as a competition to win the crowd quickly turns into a bitter rivalry between them and hilarity ensues!

Manuel and I began working together back in April so we could begin brainstorming how the sound and music would tell the story. Manuel was very interested in the idea of having French music be the primary genre. In addition to the French sound, I had the idea to infuse other genres in the piece. Latin/flamenco, orchestral, and heavy metal all made an appearance in the film. The eclectic mix of genres helped breath more life into the story! See for yourself:

The animation was submitted to an animation film festival and we are still waiting to hear back. Any news we hear will be posted here on the T|M website, so don’t go far! As always, you can find the animation on the SFX Design page. There are exciting project updates coming very soon! Until then, enjoy.

Tweex Music is back this week with a new airline commercial for you! This time around, T|M presents new music for Delta Airlines. Tweex Music did a another spot for Delta back in 2008 and had music from my debut album, Alter Ego, featured in the spot, which you can LISTEN TO and DOWNLOAD for free!

This time around, T|M was able to compose an original piece of music for the spot. The idea was to come up with something peppy but also laid back. Being a big fan of genre fusion, I decided to create a piece that had classical elements (chamber strings), contemporary guitar solo, electronic synths, and tribal/ethnic percussion. If you had to categorize the piece, it would probably be in the ever so popular Classic-Hop-Contemp-Electro-World genre! Or as we in the business like to call it, “Indie” . The final product came out quite well. Check it out for yourself:

As always, the spot can be found of the SFX PAGE along with all the other airline spots that T|M has had the priveldge to work on! Tweex Music continues to keep very busy and has some exciting updates on the way so be sure to check back soon!

This week brings some very exciting news. T|M has been brought on as an official staff member for Gaming Union, a popular video game news and discussion website. GU offers a variety of services to the community: daily news articles, game reviews, and the extremely popular podcast series (Final Fantasy Union, Kingdom Hearts Union, and Mini GUP). T|M will be spearheading the audio needs for all of GU with new music, themes, sound design, and lots of other sonic elements!

T|M was introduced to GU back in 2008 when a VG remix done by Tweex (REAKTR.1) was featured in one of their podcasts (Episode 4 of FFU). Another remix (Of Fiend and Man) by Tweex was highlighted on another episode of FFU (Episode 24). Soon after, T|M was contracted to do a theme song for the new podcast series Kingdom Hearts Union (now on their 7th episode; to be released today). The KHU Theme Song has been used in each episode and has been well received by the fans and listeners of the show.

T|M and GU will be working together to bring new sonic elements to the entirety of the Gaming Union community to help brand GU, its podcasts, and the company itself. Be sure to check out the new episode of FFU (to be released next Tuesday) for new music, sound design, and sonic elements. It is sure to blow you away!

In the meantime, check out Gaming Union, join the forums and become one of the community members, listen to the podcasts, drop them a line on Twitter, and have fun exploring GU’s take and angle on a very popular industry. I guarantee you wont be disappointed!

Check back soon for some more very exciting news!
